The Digital Awakening: Future Art Writers Award

An exploration and interrogation of meta-futures through the power of words.

Grants for emerging and established art writers, covering the art on view in the current Digital Awakening exhibition.

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

The Future Art Writers Award calls for U.S. art writers of all ages and professional backgrounds to submit an abstract (of about 250 words) on an essay/review/feature that they propose writing on the Future Art Awards: The Digital Awakening Virtual Exhibition—with a focus on the art on view and this cycle’s theme: an exploration and interrogation of meta-futures.

As human beings begin to shift away from the physical world in favor of virtual and augmented realities, the world of art stands at the center of a global movement where immersive worlds, online avatars, and the advent of a digital blockchain-based-future will inevitably have a profound impact on art, culture, politics, activism and the economy. The works of 25 U.S. artists are now on view in a curated virtual exhibition, including NFTs, NFT Collections and Non-NFT artworks.

$2,000 grants will be issued to submitting writers that demonstrate an original and compelling point of view in their proposed essay/review/feature of the Future Art Awards: Digital Awakening Virtual Exhibition, to be published in the 3rd Edition of the MOZAIK E-ZINE. (View Ecosystem X E-Zine | View Re-Imagining Democracy E-Zine)

Proposed literary projects can address general and specialized art audiences. Writers working on experimental or non-traditional arts writing are also invited to apply. BIPOC and other historically marginalized or underserved art writers are encouraged to submit a proposal.
